Our Church
Located in the heart of God’s beautiful Texas Hill Country, AGFC is a Spirit-filled, Bible reading, Bible believing, Bible teaching church! We believe all Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness. (2Timothy 3:16)
Our Pastor
J.D. Link is the founder and pastor of Abundant Grace Fellowship Church in Blanco, Texas. He is a native Texan, born in Corpus Christi and raised on Garner State Park. After serving four years in the U.S Coast Guard, he moved to Blanco with his wife and children and met the Living God, The Lord Jesus Christ. After being born again, baptized with the Holy Spirit and called to preach; he moved to Colorado Springs and attended Andrew Wommack’s Charis Bible College. Upon graduating two years later, The Lord called him back to Blanco to establish Abundant Grace Fellowship Church in 2003. Pastor Link’s desire as a pastor-teacher is to see people thoroughly rooted and grounded in their faith through a love for, and the diligent study of, The Truth - which is spirit and life, The Word of The Living God.
J.D. has been married to his beautiful wife and best friend Krista since the summer of 1994. Together they have been blessed with five children and six grandchildren.
Our Mission
It’s our desire to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Mt 28:18-20, Mk 16:15-20, 1Cor 15:1-4); to worship and glorify The Lord our God (Ps 34:1-3, 134:2, Jn 4:24); to build each other up (Prov 27:17, 1Cor 14:3); to build strong Christian families (Josh 24:15, Dt 11:18-21); to equip people for the work of the ministry (Eph 4:11-12, 2Tim 2:2); to support world missions, especially the persecuted church (Heb 13:3, Gal 6:10); and to live our lives as true disciples of Jesus Christ (Jn 8:31-32, Lk 14:25-35, 1Cor 13). We give thanks to our Father in Heaven for pouring out on us His abundant grace, mercy, goodness, and love through Jesus; and for His Holy Spirit living inside of us. God is good, all the time! (Mal 3:6, Mk 10:18)
Statement of Faith
1. The Bible: The Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God and the revealed will of God (Ps 12:6-7, 119:89; 2Tim. 3:15-17; I Peter 1:23-25; 2Pt 1:19-21; Heb. 4:12).
2. God: There is only one true God (Dt 6:4). God The Father (1Cor 1:3), God The Son (Jn 1:1, 14; 1Tim 3:16), God The Holy Spirit (Act 5:3-4). Three in One and One in Three. All co-equal and co-eternal. (Mt. 28:19, 1Jn 5:7).
3. Man: Man was created by God, in God's image. Through his transgression, sin and death entered the world and came upon us all. No person is righteous. All mankind has sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. The wages of sin is death. (Gen. 1:26-31, 3:1-7; Rom. 3:10, 23, 5:12-21, 6:23).
4. Salvation: The gift of God is eternal life (Rom 6:23). While we were sinners, Jesus died for us (Rom 5:8). God so loved us, that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whoever believes on Him would not perish but have everlasting life (Jn 3:16). If we will believe in our heart that God The Father has raised Jesus from the dead and confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, we shall be saved (Rom 10:9-10). Salvation cannot be earned through our good works. We are saved by God’s grace & mercy, through our faith in Jesus (Eph 2:8-9, Titus 3:5-7). We must believe the Gospel (1Cor 15:1-4).
5. Good works: Our good works are not the root (or cause) of our salvation, but they are the fruit of it. Works are an evidence of genuine faith and our works will determine our rewards in eternity (1Cor 3:12-15; 2Cor 5:10; Gal 5:22-23; Eph. 2:10; James 2:18).
6. The Church: The Church is the Body of Christ. The Body of Christ is made up of every individual born-again person. Each believer is an integral part of the Body. The gates of Hell will not prevail against it (1Cor 12:12-27; Eph. 1:22-23, 2:19-22; Heb. 12:23, Mt 16:18).
7. Water Baptism: Baptism in water is a declaration to the world that a believer has died with Christ and that they have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life. It is not a suggestion of Jesus, but a command; and by Biblical example, should be done upon conversion (Mt. 28:19; Mk 16:16; Acts 8:35-39, 10:47-48; Rom. 6:4).
8. The Lord’s Supper: The celebration of the Lord's Supper by eating of the bread and drinking of the cup is a remembrance of Jesus’s death on the cross, our covenant with God through faith in Him, and an expectation of His return (I Cor. 11:24-30). We celebrate this every Lord’s Day (Act 20:7).
9. Marriage: We believe that marriage is a sacred and holy institution created by God; and is between one biological man and one biological woman in covenant matrimony. (Gen. 1:27-28, 2:22-24; Mt. 19:4-6). It is a picture of Christ and the church (Eph 5:22-33). Sex is to be only within the confines of this covenant relationship and any sex outside this relationship God will judge (1Cor 7, Heb 13:4).
10. Divine healing: We believe in and practice the Biblical example of Divine healing (laying on of hands, anointing with oil, praying the prayer of faith, rebuking sickness). God is The Healer. However, we are not opposed to the use of natural means in the healing process. Like with Hezekiah’s tumor (2Kin 20:5-7), we believe in the natural and supernatural (Ex 15:26, Ps 103:1-3, Isa 53:5, Mt 8:16-17, Mk 16:18, Lk 4:9, Act 10:38, Jas 5:14-16, Col 4:14)
11. Baptism with the Holy Spirit: When a person is saved (aka, born again, converted, regenerated, made a new creation, etc.), they are indwelt by the Holy Spirit (aka the Spirit of Christ). Christ Jesus now lives in them (Rom 8:10, 2Cor 13:5, Gal 4:6, Col 1:27, 1Jn 4:4).
However, there is a secondary experience, commonly called the baptism with the Holy Spirit (Act 1:5). It is also known as being endued with power from on high (Lk 24:29); receiving power to be a witness (Act 1:8); being filled with the Holy Spirit (Act 2:1-4); The Holy Spirit “falling on” (Act 10:44-48, 11:15-16); giving the Holy Spirit (Act 15:8); The Holy Spirit coming upon (Act 19:1-6).
As described in the verses above, this is an equipping with power to live the life of a disciple. To be a powerful witness (Act 4:33). To speak boldly (Act 4:31). To operate in the gifts of the Spirit (1Cor 12).
12. The evidence of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit: The initial outward sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and the subsequent manifestation of spiritual power in public testimony and service (Acts 1:8, 2:4, 10:44-46, 19:2,6).
13. Tongues/gifts in church: We do not speak out loud in tongues in the church service, based on the Apostle Paul’s clear instruction (1Cor 14:1-28). Tongues are for personal edification (1Cor 14:1-4). If one does speak in tongues out loud, they must be ready to interpret; and it must be done decently and in order (1Cor 14:27-28, 40). We welcome the spiritual gifts, but will not endure chaos and foolishness.
14. Blessed Hope: Jesus is coming to gather all His saints to Heaven to be with Him forever (Jn 14:1-3, I Cor. 15:51-52; I Thess. 4:16-17; II Thess. 2:1).
15. Eternal damnation: Those who have not accepted the redemptive work of Jesus Christ will suffer eternal separation from the God. Eternal life is in Jesus – so if you don’t have Jesus, you don’t have eternal life (1Jn 5:11-12). It is appointed unto man once to die and then the judgment (Heb 9:27). This means there are no “do-overs”. You will die in your sins if you don’t believe upon Jesus (Jn 8:24). You will wake up in Hell the moment you expire (Lk 16:23) – and at the end of the age, you will be cast into the Lake of Fire forever (Jn 3:36, Act 4:12, Rev. 19:20, 20:10-15).
16. The Millennial Reign of Jesus: After the Great Tribulation (Mt 24:21, Rev 6-18), The Lord Jesus Christ will return from Heaven to earth with His saints to rule and reign for one thousand years on earth as the Scripture promised (Mt 24:29-31, 2Thess. 1:7-10; Rev. 19:11-16, 20:1-7). After this, there will be a new heaven and new earth and new Jerusalem - the eternal dwelling place of the saints with God (Rev. 21-22).
